  • ¾ cup (95 g) flour
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar or honey
  • ½ cup (115 g) melted butter or coconut oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • A pinch of salt
  • (Optional) ¼ cup chocolate chips, raisins, or nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: Mix butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Add flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Add oats and extras: Stir in oats and extras (chocolate chips, raisins, or nuts).
  5. Bake: Scoop dough, flatten slightly, and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
  6. Cool: Cool on a wire rack.

Baking Tips

  • Bake 2 extra minutes for crispy cookies, or less for soft ones.
  • For chewier cookies, use more brown sugar and less white sugar.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
